Of Tigers and sculpting.

This has been a very interesting week.

I mentioned in my last post that I was stepping up and becoming acting Flight Sergeant for a couple of months. Well, it seems that during the same period, I am going to have to cover for my boss as well. This essentially means that I will have to work a bit of overtime in order to cover my own work and the that of my newly assumed duties. That may sound a bit rubbish but just recently, I have been struggling with motivation and it seems that the added responsibility has fired a bit of enthusiasm... so it may well end up being a very positive thing. As long as I don't screw things up, it will also look good on my staff appraisal.

With that metaphorical 'kick up the arse' cam a little bit of positive news on the hobby front. I have been busy painting this week and have managed to finish off the small unit of Torge's Tigers that I have so far collected. I still need to add a few decals but I will need to put some gloss varnish on and mess about with decal choices for that... and that doesn't generally photograph well so here is the 'finished' squad:

Click the Pic!

As you can see, there is a tan coloured tiger and a white one as well. The tanned one is a Sgt and the white one is Torge himself. I thought that in order to identify leaders in the heat of jump-pack mellee, it would be a good idea to have them a completely different colour to the troops. I am debating whether I will add rank markings to their helmets (like my other NMA troops) but I will have to think on it for now. As it stands, I am just glad to have a temporary respite from painting stripes!

Now that the small squad is complete, I am in the process of deciding how I am going to build an OGrymn in powered armour with a jump-pack. It may take a while but I hope I can achieve something that works.

As I have mentioned, I managed to complete a couple of commission sculpts last week. Well, I have been given permission to show them off and here they are:

Click the Pic!

The sculpts are for a project over at Matakishi's Tea House and he was happy enough with the sculpts to offer me the task of sculpting a few other bits and bobs... so watch this space for more updates. I have already started on one of the larger pieces.

Well... I am a bit annoyed that my spoons haven't arrived yet so I am now waiting on a response from the E-bay seller. I hope it stirs things up and I get some spoons dished out soon (Stirs? Dished out? Can you see what I did there?). That way I can try out my idea that has been patiently waiting for spoons to arrive.

I think that about sums everything up at the moment.

See you from the old workshop!

Turtle power and command vehicles.

I have noticed another follower has arrived and I believe it is Maj. Diz Aster. If it is you or indeed, someone else... you are very welcome to my blog. Please feel free to get involved.

So... I have been thinking about my Deadzone miniatures that will be turning up at the end of the year/beginning of next year and am very much looking forward to them arriving. What sparked this train of thought was a post on Facebook about a Teraton Dreadball team:

I am really rather fond of these large creatures and have two kitted out for sci-fi combat coming as part of the Kickstarter. Here is the Dreadball special player (Dozer) confronting an Orc:

As you can see, they are large and a cross between dinosaurs and turtles... but everytime I look at them I just think of Pokemon. With minimal conversion, I reckon these could easily be turned into a decent sci-fi force and for £14.99 for a box of eight players or £9.99 for Dozer, they are tremendous value.

All that Mantic stuff aside, I have been diligently plodding on with the last vehicle for my Tunnel Fighter army and have reached a point where the main body is complete and ready for details to be added. It looks very plain at the moment but it should be treated as a frame:

Click the Pic!

As you can see, it is quite a beast but needs to be so that the walker in the pic can clamber inside. It will also be acting as a command centre so there will be extra crew and technical gizmos to fill up a lot of the space. You can see from the picture that painting the wheels will be really tricky (due to the side skirts) but never fear... with the use of magnets, I can do this:

Click the Pic!

Clever eh? Looking at the base unit... can you tell where the magnets are? I bet you'll never guess...

So I still have a way to go but it is a very good start.

That is it for today.

See you from the bus lane!

Only a month until... the DoD is over

Well, it's that time of the week again and I am sitting in front of my shiny new PC typing another blog post. I have had an interesting week of leaving parties, parent's evenings and wedding anniversary meals and have managed to land this weekend.

...so what have we got this week then? Well, I waved goodbye to a bunch of work colleagues who have either left the RAF or are being posted to pastures new. The speeches were good, the drink flowed and the company was excellent.

I had to go to school for a parent's evening which consisted of a bunch of different teachers saying how they thought things were... and then telling me that everything was cool except for all of the resits that were going to be needed. My daughter is doing really well but they think she can do better so they would like her to resit certain parts of the courses she is doing. Teachers eh?

Friday was my 21st wedding anniversary. I have now been married for longer than I haven't! The amazing thing is that me and my better half are still happily in love with each other. Life is full of little miracles. Here's to the next 21 years.

In other family news... I have been hairdressing again:

Click the Pic!

I managed to convince my daughter to try orange instead of bleached blonde... so I spent an hour getting things to the stage you can see. She was happy with it but no doubt the school won't be so chuffed... I have seen ginger hair that vivid so bring on the contender!

Little kitten Henry is growing a lot:

Click the Pic!

Henry isn't a Kitten any more and isn't a cat yet... he is officially a 'catten'. He is also the coolest catten around.

So... I read something and it was a question:

"Has anyone converted a Hellbrute into a Daemon Prince?"

... so I now have a Hellbrute on the way from E-Bay (I don't know why but I fancy giving the conversion a try).

Finally, I have an update in the Grymn Tunnel Fighter project; namely the specialist squad being complete:

Click the Pic!

That means that I have two vehicles and three units of Clankers (30 models in all) to finish in order to complete the army. I must admit that converting and painting the Grymn was good fun... it has been a while and I have missed it.

Well, the next few weeks will be mental so I have no idea what sort of updates will be forthcoming but there will be updates of some kind.

Finally, I have to mention the 2012 Unofficial Diorama of Doom. Two months have passed and there is just a month to go. For more information, have a look here:

Have a good week, watch out for the flooding, stay safe and I will see you next week.

See you from the runaway train!

Recycling

To start today's post, I'd like to welcome Phil C. He has just found his way into Inso's World and will hopefully find something to inspire or borrow for his own purposes. Welcome aboard Phil C, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Recycling is a great way to build armies without buying in lots of new stuff. As you all know, I am a bit partial to buying cheap bits and bobs from E-Bay and I have bought a wide range of 'stuff that might come in useful'. The two vehicles below fall into this category:

Click the Pic!

On the left, we have an IFV from Fenris Games. On the right we have a small van from Ground Zero Games. Two things immediately spring to mind. First, the van has been out of production from Ground Zero Games for a very long time...but fear not! You can now purchase it from Daemonscape on E-Bay. Secondly, the Fenris IFV originally came with a turret but I decided to add a skirt to it and turn it into a small hover vehicle for my Grymn desert army...here is what happened (a LONG time ago):

Click the Pic!

Anyway...I digress...My Tunnel Fighter army is in need of four transport vehicles; one each for the specialist units. Last night I had a sudden brainwave and remembered that I had some resin vehicles hidden away that hadn't been allocated to any projects. I had a quick root around and now have the perfect vehicles for my K9 and Drone squads.

The K9 vehicle will be the GZG van. It has plenty of room to house 6 K9s and 3 Grymn so I won't be converting it at all. When I bought this vehicle, I was warned that the moulds were a bit old so there is quite a bit of clean up to do...and I may end up having to use some Lego wheels...but it isn't un-salvageable.

The Drone vehicle needed to be quite large and as a result, the Fenris vehicle is perfect. I will need to convert a few bits and bobs for it to achieve it's purpose but not too much. I will be adding some roof hatches for the aerial drones to fly out of and will also be adding a large rear ramp for the wheeled drones to gain entry and leave from the back. I am also going to armour-up the front a little. As you can see, I have added spacers to the wheels to add a bit of width to the vehicle so conversion is under way.

As you can see, I now only need two transport vehicles...one for the medics and one for the OGrymn squad. I am thinking about having a flier for the OGrymn (and I already have a kit in mind that, again, I have in my collection) and another vehicle that is large enough to house an operating theatre for the medics...and that one is going to take a bit of thought.

One thing that has happened as a result of my digging is that I have decided to add a second trooper to the drone squad to act as a driver.

...AND...I find I have been distracted again...

At least it is a distraction that has led back to a constructive project.

See you from the deep, dark caverns!

A little consolidation.

After all the happiness involved in finishing a block of APCs yesterday, it got me thinking about how near to finishing the Grymn Tunnel Fighter army I really am. After all, there is more to the army than just the basic troop units...and finishing the last of the mechs will finish those off nicely...but what about the rest?

The army currently has 3 specialist units; a drone squad, a medic squad and a K9 squad. At the moment, none of those units have any transport and to be honest, the APCs that I have been using up until now just won't work so I would need to find something more appropriate.

Add to that, the start of another specialist unit that has a pair of OGrymn in it (please ignore the three APC's, it is just the WIP conversion that is of interest):

Click the Pic!

Click the Pic!

I am really unsure where I want to go with this unit. The OGrymn are quite rare (in Grymn society) so I only want to have the two of them in the unit. I will need to add a comms drone and 7 other troops to finish the unit off but I haven't decided how I want them armed...do I have a unit full of heavy weapons or bodyguards or even basic troops? Then I have to consider the size of the OGrymn and how they can be transported.

More questions are raised when I look at the Clanker units:

Click the Pic!

At the moment, I have two Clanker units and they each have 3 members. The models that they are converted from (Vulkan Battlesuits from the OOP Warzone game) are very unique and really suit the theme of this army. As a result...I have a further 15 of them in my cupboard. I have decided that I need to keep all these models for the Tunnel Fighters, rather than spreading them piecemeal over a range of projects so that means that I have to find a way of integrating them into the army. I have decided that three units of 7 clankers would be the best option because that would keep the colours down and also make each of the units fearsome opposition. 6 of the Clankers I have in the cupboard have weapons conversions (3 laser cannon and 3 heavy cannon) so it also made sense to build three units to take that into account.

So to sum up...

I need to finish the 4 mechs in order to complete the basic troop units.
I need to finish the OGrymn and 8 other squad members PLUS decide on a transport.
I need to decide on the transport for the 3 specialist units (drone, medic and K9).
I need to build and paint 15 Clankers and add them to those already finished.

THEN the army will be finished...

It is funny how slowing down to think about things really adds to the work-load!

See you from the forge!

Well...throw a little candy cane red in there...

Good morning everyone. I'd like to start by extending a warm welcome to our latest follower CPBelt. Welcome! I hope that you enjoy the turbulent idea stream that runs through Inso's World...it's the way I do things :) .

So...Iron Man got finished. Here he is before paint:

Click the Pic!

...and here he is after paint:

Click the Pic!

I really enjoyed painting this one because he took very little time due to the very limited colour palette. He is also another one that improved in the paint (in my opinion).

It is quite strange because Iron Man really highlighted the fact that small facets of an idea create the overall impression. To explain myself I can say that I could have sculpted practically any style of armoured body but as long as I added the right style of mask, I would have ended up with a recognisable Iron Man...the mask makes the man. Add to that the colours and we have an overall impression of Iron Man no matter how little the armour resembles the actual character...

...now there's an idea.

Generic characters with tiny little design cues being IP free. Add a distinctive paint job and all of a sudden you have a recognised character from a Marvel/DC universe.

Goliath is big...in fact, he is REALLY big. I have added some flesh to his wire frame using Milliput because it is cheaper to buy than Green Stuff. Even as an OGrymn he will be approximately 60mm tall. If I am not particularly careful, Goliath may be the one that breaks my muse...so I will be ticking along with him while I sculpt other, smaller heroes. Out of all of the various Hank Pym costumes, I have decided to go for the following one but with additional ear-covers in yellow:

Click the Pic!

There are various versions of the same costume including one that gets rid of the spiky boot/glove tops so I will be doing that version.

With Goliath, you will have to close one eye when you look at him because he will be a slightly hunched OGrymn with shorter proportioned legs, extended torso and over-large head. Unlike the Goliath in the comic books, he won't be able to shrink/grow and would never have had that ability. What we have is a character that is already giant sized, taking a super-serum and gaining additional strength, toughness and durability compared to his counterparts...and bearing in mind that an OGrymn is already quite a brute, he will be quite exceptional in Grymn society.

OGrymn are genetic throwbacks from Grymn DNA. They are born, just like Grymn but grow at an alarming rate. They are very rare and as a result are treated as gods among Grymn; practically revered! They are trained and tutored through their lives to be leaders and great fighters and what they want, they generally get. When the Grymn super-soldier program was approached by an OGrymn who wanted to join, they had to radically change certain parts of the facility to be able to fit the bulk of an OGrymn in. They also had to be very careful with their calculations because to harm an OGrymn would be considered an inexcusable crime. Once they had triple checked everything, they went ahead and Goliath was created.

More background will be coming soon.

See you from the giant's boot!

I had forgotten...

...just how long it takes to sculpt larger stuff. I t seems that it takes a lot more time because you worry more about covering the bits you have sculpted with finger-prints. The extra weight doesn't help either...but enough of that! Just to prove that I have been busying myself with a bit of hobby stuff lately, I thought I'd post some WIP pix of my newest Ogre sized conversion...and the assembly pix of the next three APCs:

Click the Pic!

Obviously, the OGrymn is for my Tunnel Fighter army, as are the APCs.

The OGrymn will be a bit of a seer/shaman sort of character and his little pet will be either albino or have some weird markings to differentiate it from the other K9s in the army. The armour parts will be brass instead of the usual gun-metal and the staff will literally be a plain rod with an inner glow that starts at the hand and dims the further away it gets. The outstretched hand will have a heavy metal gauntlet with a gem in the palm (much like Iron Man) that will have a similar glow to the staff and the bumps around the helmet. He will be a member of the high-command squad that will have a host of different characters in it.

You may notice that the three APCs have slightly different turrets. That is because they will eventually be attached to standard infantry squads and I thought that a missile turret would suit the role better. That way, they can be equipped with anti infantry or anti armour missiles...or a mix of both. I thought that was more appropriate than a pair of cannons.

So I still need to spend an age on the OGrymn and I need to fill all of the gaps and air-bubble holes in the APCs but at least there is a small amount of progress to share.

Speaking of APCs, I have just put in another order to Scotia Grendel for the last four of them. I hope that they arrive fairly quickly because I will need something to distract me from the drudgery of painting the mechs...even thinking about them makes me dread looking at them in their unfinished states...I'm sure that there will come a time where I bite the bullet and slap on a base coat (it is all down hill after that...it is the base coat that is the pain).

On to other things and this week is very special for me. I am attending a dinner in honour of the 40 years service of the Puma helicopter. A long time ago, when I first arrived at my unit after trade training, the Puma was the first aircraft I worked on. I have worked on the type, on and off, for the last 19 years (13 years total time) and it is an aircraft that I hold dear to my heart. What makes it even more special is the fact that the year I was born, the Puma joined the RAF...so we both came into service in the same year :D. I am going to be bending the diet somewhat on that night I reckon...

That is about it for today so I'll potter on my way and tick along with whatever I need to tick along with :).

See you from the balcony!

Watershed...

Sometimes we all have to take stock of our lives and go through a period of adjustment. Every time something happens, we need to understand why...that is human nature for you.

Well, this week has really been a week of adjustment and understanding. As a result of the blood-test 'diabetes bombshell', I have changed my diet and started a more intense fitness regime. This has had a number of effects:

1) I am not eating any processed/refined sugar...so my energy levels have dropped.
2) I am exercising more so I am finding all those muscles that I forgot I had.
3) I have discovered sleep...which, funnily enough, is making me feel tired during the day.
4) I am coming to terms with not being able to do what I like and eat what I like...WEIRD!!!
5) I am having to find replacements for all those foodstuffs that I love...that don't contain lots of sugar.

I am quite lucky because I can mentally label foods as 'BAD' and once I've done that, I don't miss them. That means I don't have cravings (yet) for things like ketchup, chocolate...and many other things. I have also begun to rediscover a love for vegetables and fruits...and more basic produce and don't feel the need to cover everything with salt or sauce.

I think the exercise is helping because I am already starting to feel more healthy...it must be all those endorphins!

Bananas are great. They have a really beneficial effect when you have overdone a run and quickly stop you from keeling over!

What I am trying to say is that while I am jumping on the 'New ME Bandwagon', I have a lot less time for the hobby. It also means that I have nothing to show off in this current update.

On the plus side, I have finally received the sci-fi troopers from Ramshackle Games and have washed them ready to start their clean-up and painting stages. From a quick once over, they look really nicely cast and have minimal flash...so I think they will be a joy to put together and paint.

For some strange reason, I have just stopped with the army building vibe at the moment and have decided that I want to get a few characters put together to go with this guy:

Click the Pic!

As a result, I have started the conversion work on a second Ogre-sized Tunnel Fighter who will act as an advisor and maybe a mystic. He has been based on the same miniature as the one above but will look rather different...he has a pet, for starters! I don't want the whole unit to be OGrymn and have been thinking about putting a few more troops together to act as high-ranking officers and advisors...but they will be the standard Grymn size.

...I suppose they will need transport...and maybe a mech to go with them...but I will need to put together a unit of troops first :).

Well, sorry for the empty update but hopefully, I'll get back into the groove soon and climb back into the hobby saddle again.

See you at the finish line!

Friday, 31 December 2010

The End...

...of the year is usually a time of reflection and maybe a bit of forward thinking or planning. Sometimes it is a time of making resolutions...

...but enough of all that!

I have heard it said that 'failing to plan is planning to fail' but my retort is 'no plan survives contact with the enemy'...

So instead of making plans, lets just throw a few ideas out there with wishes instead of plans...that way, if I don't manage to achieve some of them, I won't feel guilty!

2010 has been quite a year for me. A change of job, a change of shift pattern, a visit to Kenya, a failed sculpting commission and many other exciting things (not all of them good things) but I have managed to achieve a lot of hobby stuff. At the start of the year I converted my first tunnel fighters and now I nearly have a full army of them:

Link to Tunnel Fighter units.

Amongst those, I have painted my Tyranids, some Halo Grymn and many other individuals...quite a haul considering the time I have been out of the country and working odd shifts. To finish off the completed miniatures list, I can add my latest Tunnel Fighter:

Click the Pic!

Click the Pic!

I reckon this OGrymn will be joined by a few standard Grymn with mini-guns to make one very effective anti-infantry unit!

So what have I got in mind for 2011 then?

I'm hoping to finish off the last of the Tunnel Fighter squads, the Votoms mechs that join them and then make a start on some transport vehicles (APCs then maybe some mech transporters/repair vehicles).

I'd like to build a decent sized drop-ship and maybe even a proper giant mecha...one could say it would be a titan build ;).

I have some Void VASA stuff that I want to get painted up and I also want to make a start on my Urban Grymn; especially because I am keen to get some of the new Grymn that are on their way and they will fit in perfectly with my Urban Army plans...

...then of course, there are the Grymn fighter aircraft that I have got the components for...and any new miniatures that spring up during the year.

I also want to get my sculpting MOJO back...I have been out of the sculpting game for a while now and I have lost a lot of my finesse with the old sculpting tools so I really would like to get practising again. The only thing is, I can't force the issue otherwise I'll end up not being able to sculpt a thing!

In the real world, I have a couple of trips to Kenya to deal with (along with various courses) and I am planning on helping out the guys and gals at the HF stand at Salute again this year. My poor neglected motorcycle needs to get back on the road and I seriously need to do a lot of consolidating where my 'stuff' is concerned...I fear a few trips to the charity shop coming up!

Being happy and enjoying my family goes without saying ;).

So there you have it. A host of rambling with a lot of stuff in amongst it. The good thing is that I can look back on the blog and see how well I did when New Year's Eve arrives at the end of 2011.

I'm not sure whether there will be an update on Sunday as I fear I may be rather busy over the next day or so. It only remains for me to say thank you to all of you reading my blog. I am always humbled to find that people enjoy some of the stuff I do and it spurs me on to keep things fresh.

Oh...I almost forgot...

Have a very Happy New Year's celebration but remember to go mad, have a wild time but stay safe!

See you through the booze-fuelled blur and the wonderful array of fireworks!

A rather distracted week...

With all the things that have been happening with Inso this week, it is surprising that he has sent me anything to show off! However, he hasn't disappointed. Here is a WIP pic of the transport vehicle for his Beetle-bot Squad:

From what he has told me, he is looking to give it an 'A-Team' sort of stripe down the side but is not quite sure how he is going to do it...I'm sure he'll work it out!

Next up shows further work on Sgt Deathwatch; leader of the Beetle-bots:

As you can see, he now has an optical array and his arms have changed a little bit. Inso has said that he wants to have this finished and painted by next weekend...along with the transport. We'll see...

Finally, we have a WIP for the next squad in Inso's burgeoning Grymn collection. This one is a Sgt for the latest Stormtrooper unit. There is still a bit to go but it's a start:

As well as the above progress, Inso has assembled a model kit ready for conversion. I am not able to say anything else other than 'Support Flier'. Make of that, what you will.

Catch you later!

Saturday, 15 November 2008

Saturday after a quiet week.

Well, this week appears to have been a very quiet one for the hobby tinkerings of Inso. I think this has mostly been down to a two day trip away from home. Nonetheless, he has managed to finish a few things and start a few others.

First of all, the Beetle-bots are now all based and awaiting a Sgt to lead them. Sgt Deathwatch has had a little more work done...and a little work removed so he hasn't really progressed much. On the Beetle-bot squad subject, Inso has started and progressed on their transport, a wheeled APC with a little turret.

The three aliens have had a bit more work done. The flesh has been washed with the armour and weapons washed and highlighted as well. Still very WIP.

The OGrymn has had his feet removed and work has begun to improve his proportions and make him look a bit more anatomically correct. It is still as WIP as before but seems to be going in the right direction.

Finally, a small squad of 6 Grymn Stormtroopers (heavy infantry) have found their way to the table and are waiting for Inso to decide on a colour scheme. They are currently undercoated black and based. They may stay like that for a while...you can never tell with Inso!

So...no photos due to nothing much to show that isn't WIP. Hopefully, things will change over the next day or so. I guess we'll see, won't we?

Catch you later!

Sunday, 9 November 2008

Another Sunday Update.

It seems that Inso has really been bitten by the Beetle-bot bug. He has sent me pix of another two; one armed with bolter and power fist and the other armed with plasma pistol and power axe:

As well as the Beetle-bots, Inso has started work on Sgt Deathwatch, leader and controller of the Beetle-bot squad. There is a lot to do on this one...but it is a start:

Inso has also been blowing the dust off an old project. His OGrymn leader has come out of the cupboard and has received a little work. Not too much has been done so far but the pointing hand is nearly finished and the gun has been fitted ready for a lot of sculpting work to tie it into the arm a bit better. Inso also mentioned that the feet have been removed in order to lengthen the shins a bit (because the lower legs were out of proportion). Here is what he was like before he lost his feet:

Finally, Inso has started to paint some of the Aliens he bought at Salute. These are from Black Scorpion miniatures and are shown here at a very early stage of painting:

Well...that's about it!

Catch you later.

A Rare Update

I received a few pix from Inso today. First up is a pic of his OGrymn squad that has been in the process of paint for a good couple of weeks now. This squad is the final squad for his green army and as a result...Inso is very pleased to say that his green Grymn army is now complete!

So without further ado, here are Geezer, Burt and Charlton (named after Burt Reynolds and Charlton Heston):

You may notice that Charlton is a bit pale. He is actually an albino and will 'count as' an Ogryn 'Bone Head' sgt for the squad.

Next up is something completely out of the blue. I was almost expecting pix of more blue troopers but instead I received this:

Apparently, this is a Beetle-bot. It is a Grymn construct that is used to enter and clear buildings. The miniature is currently WIP and needs a few areas to be tidied up and a few details to be added. Not bad for something that started life as a Necron this morning. The good thing is that there are another eleven possible donors for more Beetle-bots.

Catch you later.

Sunday, 21 September 2008

Nothing for ages...then...

...Everything turns up at once!

As you can see, Inso sent over a few pix to back up his comments to me yesterday. First up we have some WIP Grymn veterans for his latest army. They started life as Vanir from the Celtos fantasy range (available from Brigade Models) and are in the process of being made a bit more sci-fi. As you can see, there is still a way to go with these:

Next up is a selection of the many conversions that Inso has started for the infantry platoon for the new army. They are going to have a desert theme, hence the hats/headgear:

Next we have snipers in partial ghuillie suits. They will act as a special weapon squad in the new army:

Finally we have the two OGrymn that will finish off the green Grymn army. They have had new faces added but little more. They would have been converted further but for the lack of cutting tools. Inso has said that he may add a few wrist bands prior to painting but isn't 100% certain:

Sorry about the garish pix. Inso is still in the throws of unpacking and a biscuit box was all that he had to hand as a back drop. I'm sure that once he is more moved in, he will sort out some better pix.

Well, that's it for now.

Catch you later.

Saturday, 20 September 2008

Late September Already?

It's been a while but Inso has nearly finished his move and will be back to his usual antics very soon.

He has not sent any pix but assures me that he has been busy converting miniatures during his absence and will have lots to show off once he starts taking some pix.

In the mix are:

For a new army:
A converted Grymn infantry platoon (almost finished but a good WIP - that's 25 minis).
A converted Grymn veteran squad (almost finished and converted from Celtos Vanir - that's 7 minis).
A converted Grymn sniper squad (finished - that's 6 minis).

To finish the Green army:
2 Converted OGrymn (both finished).

None of them have seen paint or been based because Inso has not had any access to his painting stuff for a couple of months...but things will change soon.

Catch you later.

Sunday, 3 August 2008

Another milestone.

Today, Inso sent me a pic of the last Grymn troops for his green army. They form a remnants squad for one of the infantry platoons:

All that remains is a pair of OGrymn that need to be converted and painted to go with this other one:

They will form a small Ogryn unit and will finish off the army.

Of course, Inso still has the tanks to sort out but that may change...it all depends on what direction he choses to move in...

Catch you later!
