Another Sunday; another post.

Hello and welcome to Inso's World again.

This week has been another busy one, with the added complication of having a poorly wife to look after. As a result, I have been doing all the chores on top of what I would usually doing so my time has been well used.

Luckily my wife has a really bad cough so I have really slept well this week... oh no... what I meant to say is that I have been listening to coughing all night so sleep has been a bit sparse too. That said, I must have had enough sleep because I have been able to work hard, get all my chores done and still have time for a small amount of hobby time.

First up, I have been continue to work on my Primaris marines and have got another five, roughly base-coated. I just need to tidy them up, before a wash and highlighting:

Now for the distractions... I saw an image of a Mantic Teraton and thought "I've got one of those" so I dug it out, assembled it and have started to slap a base-coat on it:

I have no idea what I am going to do with it... but it's a cool miniature and I would like to get it finished so I think I'll just see where it takes me. I have a few other Teratons so this may end up as a bit of a group... who knows?

Another distraction came about, as a result of someone showing me a mecha model. That got me thinking and as a result, I dug out my Dougram kit and have started to assemble it:

The kit is a clear plastic version so I am going to have fun painting it... but I have assembled the legs so far and will be heavily converting the torso and head. Here is where I am at, so far:

I'll not share what plans I have for it because I don't really have any yet... so it will be very much a case of seeing where it takes me.

In other news, my work place has decided that it would like to get some 'interactive' tables for some of the residents to have a play with. They are great for people living with dementia and they stimulate communication and interest. Here's a video:

As a result, I will be trying to raise some money to help purchase one... so watch this space for my charity activities this year.

That's it for now.

See you from the pier!

Of Space Knights and Superheroes.

Hello and welcome to Inso's World again. It's been two weeks since my last post but I want to try and keep things relatively interesting so I felt a longer gap than usual, was warranted.

This week, has been very similar to last week... lots of work, lots of sleepless nights and lots of tiredness... but I had a birthday in there, so it wasn't all doom and gloom.

I have now been on the wagon for over eight months and the time is flying by now. May is creeping up nicely and I will soon be able to enjoy a nice pint of ale again.

At work, I am now (more or less) part of the furniture so I am working hard and people are starting to listen if they need to... which is nice. I still have some ice to break, here and there, but I'm getting there.

Hobby time has been relatively slim but I have managed to get a few things done.

First up is a converted superhero:

It started life as THIS Hasslefree Miniature and ended up as a new speedster for my little group of superheroes. A very simple conversion and it has worked out quite nicely.

Next... this:

Yes... I have been painting Primaris Space Marines.

I have called them Space Knights and they will all be represented by metal armour and their own personal heraldry. It is early days yet but the sixth one is on the table... so it's ticking along.

The bikes (from the last post) have not progressed at all and still sit on my painting table.

That's it for the hobby.

In fact, that's it for the blog this week.

See you from the carriage!

Sunday 6 January 2019

Woooosh!

Hello again! Is it Sunday already?! Welcome to Inso's World again.

This week has been mostly about work... lots of it. That means that I haven't had a huge amount of time for very much else. It also means that when I did have time, I wasn't really in the mood for hobby stuff... so not a lot has been achieved.

I must admit that it has been nice having a couple of days off, with my wife. We have spent some quality time in each other's company so it has made up for me not having a Christmas holiday a bit.

Work is still great... although the 'politics' can be a little jarring. I am loving the work though... so that is where my focus is going.

So... all the hobby:

This represents all my hobby time this week. The whole bike squad is now converted and the bikes are all in the process of paint. One is more or less finished, the other five need the green tidying up before a wash with Agrax Earthshade and then highlighting etc.

In other hobby news, I have received my Onna-bugeisha Kick-starter from Bad Squiddo Games. I have not really had a chance to go through it properly but I will do so and share a review soon.

In other Kick-starter news, I have sorted out the pledge manager for two others... so when they arrive, I can share a review about those too. More news about those a bit later.

Seeing as I now get a pay slip, I decided to get another five Meng, World War Toons,  King Tiger tank kits... so I only need five more and I'll never need to buy any more again... unless I change my mind.

That's it.

See you from the halt!
